GD Socks
These aren’t just any socks - these were made custom by the knitting mills that make my absolute favorite socks. I ran across one of their stores on vacation, got a pair of their original version and love them immediately. I wore them every chance I got for two years before contacting them for a custom order. That original pair is still my must-wear for long days on my feet and hiking trips. I have tried Darn Tough, Bambas, Wigwam, Kirkland, Carharrt, Terramar, Smartwool, Stance, and others, including similar alpaca blends. None have been as comfortable or better for preventing hot spots and blisters on the trail.
They are soft, compliant, and well-cushioned, made from 50% Alpaca wool, 35% Acrylic, 5% Elastic, 8% Spandex and 2% Nylon. Made in Peru. They are on the warm side so keep weather and personal preferences in mind.
Please note, as with most wool, these should be machine washed cold and line/hang-dried to prevent the wool from felting and becoming stiff.
